Leon Trotsky’s last testament before Stalin popped him off (via treesongs)
“At the end of the Tenth Congress, after peace negotiations had failed, Trotsky gave the order for the suppression of the Kronstadt Rebellion, the last major revolt against Bolshevik rule.[21] Years later, Anarchist Emma Goldman and others criticized Trotsky’s actions as Commissar for War for his role in the suppression of the rebellion, and argued that he ordered unjustified incarcerations and executions of political opponents such as anarchists, although Trotsky did not participate in the actual suppression.”
The Kronstadt Rebellion was a revolt against Bolshevik rule by anarchist, trade unions, and the like. Trotsky was an authoritarian, saw this as a threat, and murdered the lot of them.
Not much of a revolutionary hero, huh?
